DEGREES OF COMPARISON

 

There are 3 degrees,

Positive

Comparative

Superlative

 

Positive degree: The adjective is in its simplest form.

Comparative Degree: It is used when there are two objects or two persons to be compared.

Superlative Degree: It is used when things of comparison exceed two.

Eg: Very few boys in the class are as tall as Parthi

…..Comparative degree word + than manyother

 

Eg: Parthi is taller than many other boys in the class

…..’one of the’ + superlative degree word…

 

 

Eg: Parthi is one of the tallest boys in the class.

Two things/persons/places to be compared

 

Eg: Seenu is not so tall as Parthi

Two things/persons/places to be compared

 

Eg: : Parthi is taller than Seenu

There is no superlative in comparative type.
