‘Vetri 150’ Rural Guaranteed Employment Expansion Scheme:
- The Tamil Nadu government issued administrative sanction for ‘Vetri 150’, a scheme providing an additional 25 days of employment funded by the State.
- Applies to vulnerable rural households that complete the mandatory 125 days of guaranteed work under the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G), raising their total guaranteed work to 150 days in a financial year.
- ₹100 crore sanctioned for implementation during 2026–27.

State Cash Incentives for Asian Para Games Medallists:
- Chief Minister announced a cash incentive of ₹30 lakh each for table tennis players Jehan Dorab Madan (Men’s Singles Class 1 Bronze) and Sahana Ravi (Women’s Class 9 Bronze) for their performance at the 5th Asian Para Games 2026 in Japan.

Doppler Velocity Imaging of Solar Corona (VELC Payload):
- Scientists at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) generated Doppler velocity images of the solar corona using data from the Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) aboard ISRO’s Aditya-L1 mission.
- Utilizes the Doppler effect in light waves to detect the direction and speed of Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs)—distinguishing plasma moving toward or away from Earth to improve space weather forecasting.
