National Events:

50th Chief Justice of India:

President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath of office to the new Chief Justice of India , Justice D Y Chandrachud at Rashtrapati Bhawan on 9 Nov 2022. He will succeed Justice Uday Umesh Lalit who retired on 8th November 2022.
Justice D Y Chandrachud will be the 50th Chief Justice of India. He was appointed Judge of the Supreme Court of India on the 13th of May 2016.

New Space India Limited:

ISRO would move its operational activities to its marketing arm New Space India Limited ( NSIL ) and focus on research and development in the area of advanced space technologies in the coming years.
NSIL was established on 6 March 2019 under the administrative control of Department of Space and the Company Act 2013. It is headquartered in Bengaluru.

Runway landing experiment:

The first runway landing experiment ( RLV – LEX ) of the Reusable Launch Vehicle – Technology Demonstrator ( RLV – TD ) will be conducted by ISRO.
On 23 May 2016 , ISRO successfully completed its first RLV – TD HEX – 01 ( Hypersonic Flight Experiment – 01 ) mission. However, it was a suborbital flight and designed to land on sea.

TEBC:

Nagaland is prepared to host the first bird documentation event – ‘ Tokhü Emong Bird Count ‘( TEBC ). ‘ Tokhü Emong Bird Count ‘ is an effort to promote and encourage the conservation of birds in their natural habitat.
It is being organized in collaboration with the Wokha Forest Division and the Divisional Management Unit , Nagaland Forest Management Project ( NFMP ) , Wokha , and Bird Count India.

Union Government & NBEMS:

The Union Government has granted the students 265 medical seats to several Government hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with NBEMS (National Board of Examinations) took this decision.
The Ministry stressed that this step will not only ensure the health to the people’s of J & K but also the doctors of the state will also get an opportunity of being trained in their own region.

Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport:

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport Initiative was awarded the National First Award in the ‘ City with the Best Public Transport System ‘ category by the Institute of Urban Transport (India).
The project was presented in New Delhi on 20 October 2022. The awards are given annually by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, in 12 categories.

CSOVS:

The Cochin Shipyard has bagged an international export order worth 1000 crore for the construction of Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOV) for offshore wind farms from a European client.
The CSOVS, part of an emerging highly specialized niche vessel segment, are designed and built for the commissioning, service , maintenance , and operational needs of the offshore wind industry.

Global Investors ‘ Summit 2023:

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy unveiled the logo for the Global Investors ‘ Summit 2023 , scheduled to be held on upcoming March 3 and 4 in Visakhapatnam.
This summit will facilitate investments for the development of Vizag and Kakinada ports gaining momentum, the government will also take up port works at Machilipatnam and Bhavanapadu to promote trade.

Tamil Nadu Events:

Dr.A.Jayalal:

A.Jayalal from Tamil Nadu has been selected as the General Secretary of the Commonwealth Medical Association. This is the first time that an Indian is holding this position in the internationally important association.
The Commonwealth Medical Association was established in 1962. Its main objective is to promote medical technologies, treatments and the health of the people of the Commonwealth of Nations.

Cauvery South Wildlife Sanctuary:

Cauvery South Wildlife Sanctuary has been declared as the new sanctuary of Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu government has issued a notification to this effect.
The Cauvery South Wildlife Sanctuary is a large area connecting the Cauvery North Wildlife Sanctuary of Tamil Nadu and the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary of Karnataka state.

International Events:

G20:

PM Narendra Modi unveiled the logo, theme, and website of India’s G20 Presidency on 8 Nov 2022. The logo, theme, and website will reflect India’s message an overarching priorities to the world.
India will assume G20 Presidency from 1 December 2022. G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation representing around 85 % of the global GDP, and over 75 % of the global trade.

Airtel Africa:

OneWeb has signed a pact to use Airtel Africa as a provider of the satcom company’s high – speed , low – latency satellite internet connectivity services to government and enterprise customers across the African continent.
The two companies will begin trialling the service in South Africa in September 2023. They will also provide critical backhaul in unserved and underserved regions.

Sports Events:

15th Asian Airgun Championship 2022:

The 15th Asian Airgun Championship 2022 began on 9 November 2022 at Daegu in South Korea. This will be the first Rifle / Pistol Asian Shooting Confederation Championship that will be counted towards the new Asian Ranking System.
Manu Bhaker, Mehuli Ghosh, Arjun Babuta and Divyansh Singh Panwar are among some prominent names in the 36 – strong Indian contingents taking part in the championship.

Manika Batra and Gnanasekaran Sathiyan:

Table tennis players Manika Batra and Gnanasekaran Sathiyan created history by becoming the first Indian mixed doubles pair to enter the top five of the ITTF Table Tennis World Rankings on 8 November 2022.
The duo climbed up in the rankings after making it to the final of the WTT Contender event in Nova Gorica, Slovenia , where they lost to South Korea’s Lim Jonghoon and Shin Yubin 3-0 in the final.
