National Events:

Chqbook:

  • The neobank for small business owners Chqbook has introduced the first digital current account of its sort in collaboration with NSDL.
  • Small business owners, including kiranas and pharmacists, can easily open a current account on the Chqbook App from their smartphone in a language of their choice.
  • The current account is more easily accessible and understandable because it is provided in eight different languages.

 

‘’ Agenda for Members of Panchayati Raj Institutions for Rural Development “:

  • Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Giriraj Singh unveiled the booklet ‘ Agenda for Members of Panchayati Raj Institutions for Rural Development “on 4th November 2022.
  • Through this booklet, information about all the schemes such as MGNREGA, Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojna etc will be available to the general public. It will be made available at each Gram Panchayat in the country.

 

Reliance Industries:

  • Reliance Industries (RIL) on 4th November 2022 appointed K V Kamath as Independent Director of the company for a period of 5 years. Kama has also been appointed as non – executive Chairman for Reliance Strategic Investment Limited (RSIL).
  • RSIL will be renamed as Jio Financial Services Ltd. Kamath is currently the Chairman of the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID).

 

“Grama Vandi”:

  • The KSRTC’s “Grama Vandi,” which was introduced in collaboration with State-level local self-government organisations, also took home the Award of Excellence in Urban Transport.
  • The Kerala Road Transport Corporation’s (KSRTC) city circular service took home the national “Commentation Award in Urban Transport” for “City with the Best Public Transport System.”

 

M T Vasudevan Nair:

  • M T Vasudevan Nair, a renowned Malayalam author and Jnanpith laureate, has been chosen to receive the inaugural Kerala Jyothi award, which was established by the state government in the spirit of the Padma awards to recognise people who have made priceless contributions to society.

 

Indian Army & Tata Powers:

  • The Indian Army collaborated with Tata Powers to install 16 EV charging stations, in accordance with its “Go Green Initiative.” In several areas of Delhi Cantonment, charging stations have been installed.
  • Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding Delhi Area, officially opened the installation of charging stations in cooperation with the nation’s largest integrated utility in the presence of army authorities and senior TATA Power and TATA Motors executives.

 

 ‘Lakhpati Didi’:

  • Uttrakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ fair at the survey of India Maidan, Hathbarkala in Dehradun. The fair is part of an initiative undertaken by the BJP government to empower women in the state.
  • The Rural Development department of the Uttrakhand government has made preparations to make 1.25 lakh women from self-help groups ‘Lakhpati’ by 2025.

 

Miss North East competition:

  • In the Nagaland capital Kohima, the Miss North East competition was held in which 14 people from the North Eastern states participated in the final round.
  • Irene Dakar from Meghalaya won the title of Miss North East India after correctly answering the questions of the judges.

 

Bank of Baroda:

  • Bank of Baroda has introduced a new scheme called Baroda Thiranga Plus Deposit Scheme for its customers and through this scheme they can avail higher fixed interest rates.
  • The scheme has a 399-day maturity period and earns interest at 7.25 per cent for senior citizens and 6.75 per cent for general public on callable deposits.

 

International Events:

Amit Dasgupta:

  • Amit Dasgupta was appointed as an Honorary Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) for his service to the Australia-India bilateral relationship.
  • Dasgupta is a tireless promoter of Australia-India relations, challenging the nations’ governments and people to realise the underlying potential of a stronger bilateral relationship.

 

Operation Vigilant Storm:

  • The U.S. Air Force and several of its allies in the Asia-Pacific area will improve combat readiness and interoperability through Operation Vigilant Storm, a four-day training exercise involving hundreds of aircraft.
  • The Operation Vigilant Storm exercise, which is scheduled to take place between October 31 and November 4, has already drawn criticism from North Korea’s Foreign Ministry.

 

International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict:

  • On November 6th, the UN observes the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict. The day seeks to make people aware of the consequences that war and conflict have on the environment.
  • This day was established to protect the environment as a source of security and peace and to prevent its use in military conflicts.

 

2022 AP7:

  • A group of scientists has found three enormous near-Earth asteroids that were concealing from the Sun’s light.
  • One of them, 2022 AP7, is “possibly harmful” to Earth and is thought to be the greatest planet-killer-sized asteroid to have been discovered in a decade.
