National Events:

‘Manipur Sangai Festival 2022’:

  • Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy inaugurated the ‘Manipur Sangai Festival 2022’ at the Sangai Ethnic Park, Moirang Khunou in Bishnupur district on 21 November 2022.
  • The 10 – day – long festival will be held in 13 venues across six districts in the state till November 30.
  • Two coffee table books ‘Manipur Sangai Festival 2022’ and ‘Manipur Today Special Edition on Sangai Festival’ were also released.

 

Vinit Kumar:

  • Vinit Kumar has taken over the charge of CEO of Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Mumbai.
  • KVIC comes under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. He had served as the Chairman of Syama Prasad Mukherjee Port, Kolkata earlier.
  • He had also served as Chief Electrical Engineer in Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd.

 

Assam government:

  • The Assam government has launched a new tourism policy to invite more entrepreneurs and investors to make the state their investment destination.
  • The policy was prepared after consultations with the World Bank, stakeholders and industry experts.
  • It will facilitate on – the – job training to be provided by employers for local employees in hotels and resorts.

 

“SHATRU NASH”:

  • South Western Command of the Indian Army conducted Integrated Fire Power Exercise, “SHATRU NASH” in Thar desert of Rajasthan on 21 November.
  • It witnessed use firing platforms in an integrated manner involving both ground and aerial manoeuvres.
  • Skills like real – time communication and sharing of a common operating picture to overcome emerging threats were practised in the exercise.

 

“Kanpur – 1”:

  • Indian Air Force Heritage Centre being set up in Chandigarh has received a Vintage Prototype Aircraft “Kanpur – 1”.
  • This rare single – engined machine had been designed and built by late Air Vice Marshal Harjinder Singh in 1958 and was in the possession of Punjab Engineering College (PEC) Chandigarh.
  • The “Kanpur – 1″ will be displayed along with other aircraft at the IAF Heritage Centre.

 

Film Bazaar:

  • Film Bazaar, the largest South Asian film market, was inaugurated on 21 November 2022 in Goa by Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur.
  • The initiative was organised on the side – lines of 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI). It was created and organized by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). It is being organized since 2007.

 

Simplilearn Solutions & IIT Roorkee:

  • Online skill development platform Simplilearn Solutions has partnered with IIT Roorkee, for a program on HR Analytics: Unlocking Human Capital. The program will consist of live online masterclasses from IIT Roorkee faculty.
  • The programme will be launched in India and globally. The course’s duration is six months of online self – learning and masterclasses.

 

Actor Chiranjeevi:

  • Indian actor Chiranjeevi was named the India Film Personality of the Year 2022 at 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa on 20 November 2022. Actor Chiranjeevi has starred in over 150 films in his career.
  • He has acted in Telegu, Tamil, and Hindi movies. In 2006, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third – highest civilian award.

 

’53 Hours Challenge’:

  • Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated ’53 Hours Challenge’ for ’75 Creative Minds’ on 21 November 2022.
  • The competition will challenge the winners of ’75 Creative Minds for Tomorrow’ to produce a short film on their idea of India @ 100, all in 53 hours. This is powered by National Film Development Corporation (NDFC).

 

NCeG:

  • Union Minister Jitendra Singh will inaugurate the 25th National Conference on e – Governance (NCeG) in Jammu and Kashmir on November 26, 2022.
  • The National Awards for e – Governance (NAeG) will be presented under five categories of the NAeG Scheme 2022. The theme of this Conference is “Bringing Citizens, Industry and Government closer”.

 

Small-Cap:

  • Asset management company Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund has launched a small – cap scheme, an open – ended equity fund predominantly investing in small cap stocks.
  • The scheme would be benchmarked against S & P BSE 250 Small Cap Total Return Index. The fund managers to the scheme would be Abhinav Khandelwal and Manish Lodha.

 

Jal Jeevan Survekshan – 2023:

  • In Jal Jeevan Survekshan – 2023 several Uttar Pradesh districts have done well including Shahjahanpur, Bulandshahr, Bareilly and Mirzapur. Shahjahanpur with 689,990 marks stood first in two categories.
  • It was ranked on top in the aspirant category for ensuring 28,419 tap connections. Bulandshahr is in second place in best performance category and placed third in the fast moving districts.

 

Gandhi Mandela Award:

  • Dalai Lama has been conferred the Gandhi Mandela Award 2022 at Thekchen Choeling in Dharamshala’s Mcleod Ganj by Himachal Pradesh governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar.
  • The Gandhi Mandela Foundation has constituted this international prize, the Gandhi Mandela Award. The Tibetan spiritual leader is the recipient of the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize.

 

Anand:

  • Spacetech startup Pixxel is set to launch its third hyperspectral satellite – Anand – onboard ISRO’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) from the Sriharikota spaceport on 26 November 2022.
  • Anand is a hyperspectral microsatellite weighing less than 15 kg but having more than 150 wavelengths. Pixxel became the first Indian company ever to launch a commercial satellite – Shakuntala – in April 2022.

 

Tamil Nadu Events:

First batch of students from Tamilnadu:

  • The first batch of students from Tamilnadu who are visiting Kashi under the one – month – long Kashi Tamil Sangamam program reached Prayagraj on November 21, 2022.
  • They will visit the Sangam area, Lete Hanuman temple, Aadi Shankar Viman mandapam temple Akshay Vat, and other prominent places. The Sangamam will continue till 16th December 2022.

 

International Events:

Kassym – Jomart Tokayev:

  • Kazakhstan President Kassym – Jomart Tokayev secured a second term elections, winning 81.31 % of the vote.
  • He came to power in 2019. Kazakhstan is a Central Asian country and former Soviet republic. Capital: Astana. Currency: Kazakhstani tenge.

 

World Television Day: 21 November:

  • Every year on November 21st, World Television Day is observed. In December 1996 the United Nations proclaimed 21 November as World Television Day commemorating the date on which the first World Television Forum was held in 1996.
  • This day is observed as the acceptance of the impact and reach of geo – televisual communication on the global scenario.

 

Prof. Venu Gopal Achanta:

  • Venu Gopal Achanta was Elected as a Member of the International Committee for Weight and Measures (CIPM) on 21 November 2022.
  • Gopal was declared an elected Member of CIPM during the 27th General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM) meeting in Paris, France.
  • Achanta is among 18 elected members from different countries and the 7th personality in Indian history elected to CIPM.

 

Africa Industrialization Day: 20th November:

  • Every year on November 20th, Africa Industrialization Day is observed to raise awareness about the problems and challenges of African industrialization.
  • Various African countries are focusing on different ways to stimulate Africa’s industrialization process.
  • On December 22, 1989, the United Nations General Assembly recognized November 20 as Africa Industrialization Day.

 

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh:

  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be on a two – day visit to Cambodia from November 22, 2022. Cambodia, as the chair of the ASEAN Defence Ministers Plus meeting, is hosting the 9th annual meeting at Siem Reap.
  • India and Cambodia will co – chair the first India – ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting presided over by Mr. Rajnath Singh to commemorate 30 years of India – ASEAN relations.

 

Sports Events:

N Jagadeesan:

  • N Jagadeesan broke the world record and became the first player to score five consecutive centuries, the first by an Indian.
  • Jagadeesan achieved the feat during the round six group stage match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Arunachal Pradesh with a 77 – ball 100 at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore. He is also the sixth batter to hit a double ton in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
