National Events:

Airtel Payments Bank & Axis Bank:

  • Airtel Payments Bank has partnered Axis Bank to digitise the cash collection system in the country’s tier III cities and semi – urban regions .
  • Airtel Payments Bank will leverage the extensive reach of its digital led neighbourhood banking model to support Axis Bank with the digitisation of last – mile cash collections . It would also speed up the payment cycle .

 

PADMA:

  • Pay Roll Automation for Disbursement of Monthly Allowances ( PADMA ) , an automated Pay & Allowances module for the Indian Coast Guard was launched .
  • PADMA will provide seamless and timely disbursal of Pay & Allowances to around 15,000 Indian Coast Guard personnel .It is developed under the aegis of Defense Accounts Department and will be operated by Pay Accounts Office Coast Guard , Noida .

 

Busan University of Foreign Studies:

  • Busan University of Foreign Studies established India Centre for the promotion of India – focused activities in the university . The Centre will act as a nodal point for India – related events in Busan .
  • MoU to promote cooperation in the field of education & cultural exchange was also signed between Busan University of Foreign Studies & Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre , Embassy of India in Seoul .

 

National Highways Excellence Awards – 2021:

  • Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla along with Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari gave away National Highways Excellence Awards – 2021 .
  • Awards were given to the stakeholders and companies engaged in the highway construction and maintenance of road assets in New Delhi . These Excellence Awards were constituted in 2018 . Awards were given away in nine categories .

 

Synergy Conference:

  • Fourth Synergy Conference between Indian Army and Defence Accounts Department ( DAD ) was held in New Delhi on June 28 , 2022 .
  • The day – long conference was co – chaired by Vice Chief of Army Staff ( VCOAS ) Lt Gen BS Raju & Controller General of Defence Accounts ( CGDA ) Shri Rajnish Kumar . The primary agenda of the conference included deliberations on AGNIPATH scheme .

 

Going Online As Leaders ( GOAL ) Programme:

  • Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda has launched the 2nd phase of the Going Online As Leaders ( GOAL ) Programme in New Delhi in June 2022 .He also felicitated the leaders of the first phase of the programme .
  • It will also create a platform for more than 50,000 Self – Help Groups and ten lakh families associated with TRIFED to take their products global .

 

ATGM:

  • Defence Research and Development Organisation ( DRDO ) & the Indian Army successfully tested indigenously – developed anti – tank guided missile ( ATGM ) at KK range in Ahmednagar , Maharashtra , on 28 June 2022 .
  • The missile was successfully test – fired from the Arjun battle tank . DRDO founded in – 1958 .

‘ Dak Karmayogi ‘:

  • ‘ Dak Karmayogi ‘ , an e – learning portal of the Department of Post was launched by Communications nister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on 28 June 2022 .
  • This portal will enhance the competencies of about four lakh Gramin Dak Sevaks and departmental employees .
  • It will enable all the trainees to access the uniform standardized training content online or in blended campus mode .

 

ALH MK III:

  • The Indian Coast Guard on 28 June 2022 commissioned a made – in – India Advanced Light Helicopter ( ALH ) MK III squadron at Porbandar , Gujarat . It was commissioned by VS Pathania , Director – General , Indian Coast Guard .
  • The ALH MK III helicopters have been indigenously manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited ( HAL ) . So far , 13 ALH MK – III aircraft have been inducted in the Indian Coast Guard .

 

Tata Power Solar Systems Limited:

  • Tata Power Solar Systems Limited has commissioned India’s largest floating solar power project Kerala . The new project located at Kayamkulam , Kerala , is spread on a 350 – acre water body , backwaters area , having an installed capacity of 101.6 Megawatt Peak .
  • This project is the first one in the Floating Solar Photovoltaic ( FSPV ) through Power Purchase Agreement category .

 

National Statistics Day : 29 June:

  • National Statistics Day is celebrated on June 29 on the birth anniversary of late Professor Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis . He founded the Indian Statistical Institute & contributed to the design of large – scale sample surveys .
  • For his contributions , Mahalnobis has been considered the Father of modern statistics in India The theme of Statistics Day , 2022 is ‘ Data for Sustainable Development’.

 

International Events:

International Day of the Tropics : 29 June:

  • International Day of the Tropics is observed annually on June 29 . Its main goal is to raise awareness across all nations of the world , on the issues faced by tropical areas and to highlight the important role they play in our lives .
  • On June 14 , 2016 , the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution designating June 29 as International Day of the Tropics .

 

Gabon & Togo:

  • Two West African nations Gabon and Togo joined the Commonwealth on 25 June 2022 . They joined the group as its 55th and 56th member at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2022 , held in Rwanda , from June 20 to June 25 , 2022 .
  • Rwanda was the last country to join the Commonwealth in 2009 . Commonwealth of Nations Head – Queen Elizabeth II .Commonwealth of Nations Headquarters – London.

 

Miss India Worldwide 2022:

  • Khushi Patel , a biomedical student from the United Kingdom , has been declared the winner of the Miss India Worldwide 2022 .
  • It is the longest – running Indian pageant outside of India and is organised by India Festival Committee ( IFC ) . It was the 29th edition of the pageant .
