National Events:

FRUITS software:

The Karnataka government has launched software for Aadhar – based , single – window registration for the schemes . It is called the Farmer Registration and Unified Beneficiary Information System or FRUITS software .
It facilitates single registration using an Aadhar card and Karnataka’s Bhoomi digitised land record system for authenticating ownership .

Xstream multiplex:

Bharti Airtel has launched Xstream multiplex . It will be a 20 – screen platform with access to content portfolios from leading OTT partners available on the application .
Users will be able access the multiplex service on a metaverse platform called Partynite Metaverse . It is India’s first multiplex in the metaverse .

loTech World Avigation Private Limited:

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on 14 June 2022 awarded the first Type Certificate under Drone Rules to loTech World Avigation Private Limited in New Delhi . This company is one of India’s leading manufacturers of Kisan drones .
It received the Type Certificate in 34 days after submission of its online application . India has set a target to become a drone hub by 2030 .

AGNIPATH:

The Centre has cleared the AGNIPATH Scheme for recruitment of youth in the armed forces . The youth selected under this scheme will be known as Agniveers .
They will be getting an attractive monthly package with risk and hardship allowances as applicable in the three services . They will be also paid one – time Seva Nidhi Package upon completion of engagement period of four years .

“ Start – Ups for Railways “:

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched “ Start – Ups for Railways ” in New Delhi on 13 June 2022 .
This Start – Up policy aims to leverage innovative technologies developed by Indian Startups , MSMEs , Innovators and Entrepreneurs to improve the operational efficiency and safety of Indian Railways .This policy is part of the Indian Railways Innovation Programme .

Jammu & Kashmir in NeSDA 2021:

Jammu and Kashmir has topped among all Union Territories of India in e – governance services delivery , according to the National e – Governance Service Delivery Assessment ( NeSDA ) report 2021 .
The report was released by Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on 13 June 2022 in New Delhi . J & K was assessed for the first time in NeSDA 2021 and scored the highest amongst all UTS for six sectors .

Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz International Water Award:

The Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz International Water Award has been announced for Professor D. Pradeep and his research team at the Department of Chemistry, IIT Chennai.
The late Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia inaugurated the International Science Prize on October 21, 2002. The award is presented twice a year. The award is presented in various categories.

International Events:

Infosys & Harward Business Publishing:

Infosys has announced a partnership with Harvard University subsidiary , Harvard Business Publishing . It will offer free digital and life skills courses through the former’s digital corporate education platform , Springboard .
Infosys ‘ Springboard will now host free articles , videos and podcasts from Harvard Business Review ( HBR ) , as well as 10 courses offered under Harvard Manage Mentor .

IND – INDO CORPAT:

The navies of India and Indonesia on 13 June 2022 began an 11 – day coordinated patrol in the Andaman Sea and Malacca Strait . The 38th India – Indonesia Coordinated Patrol ( IND – INDO CORPAT ) between the Indian Navy Units of Andaman & Nicobar Command and the Indonesian Navy will take place till June 24 , 2022 .
This is the first post – pandemic Coordinated Patrol ( CORPAT ) between the two countries .

‘ Poison in every puff ‘:

Canada is all set to become the world’s first nation to introduce a printed warning on every cigarette . The move comes two decades after the country became a trendsetter by including graphic photo warnings on tobacco products ‘ packaging .
While the exact message could change , but the current proposal is , ‘ Poison in every puff ‘.

World Blood Donor Day : 14 June:

World Blood Donor Day is celebrated annually on June 14 . It is observed to raise awareness about the need for safe blood & blood products & also to thank blood donors for their life – saving noble act .
The theme for 2022 is ‘ Blood donation is an act of solidarity . Join the effort and save lives ‘.The day marks the birthday of Karl Landsteiner who discovered the ABO blood group system in 1901.

India’s second – biggest supplier:

Russia in May 2022 , has overtaken Saudi Arabia to become India’s second – biggest supplier of oil behind Iraq . India bought about 25 million barrels of Russian oil in May 2022 or over 16 per cent of all its oil imports .
After the US and China , India is the world’s third – largest consumer of oil , over 85 per cent of which is imported .

Sports Events:

Khelo India Youth Games 2021:

The Khelo India Youth Games 2021 concluded on 13 June 2022 at Panchkula in Haryana . This was the fourth edition of the Khelo India Youth Games .
Haryana emerged as champion by getting the top position in the medal tally with a total of 137 medals while Maharashtra got the second position by winning 125 medals .

74th Grandmaster:

Rahul Srivatshav of Telangana has become India’s 74th Grandmaster . He achieved the title after breaking the 2500 ( Elo points ) barrier in live FIDE ratings during the 9th Cattolica Chess Festival 2022 in Italy .
Viswanathan Anand is India’s first GM , which he became way back in 1988 .

1st Indian to qualify for the Pro Circuit World Snooker:

Himanshu Jain on 11 June 2022 created history by becoming the 1st Indian to qualify for the Pro Circuit World Snooker from the Q School qualifying championship .
The championship was organised by the World Snooker Tour , in Bangkok on 11 June 2022 . Himanshu is the fifth Indian overall to get an entry into the circuit .
