Difference in TNPSC Exams (Group 1, 2, 2A) – Exam pattern wise & Syllabus wise

     Exam Pattern wise:

What is difference in Group 1?

Group 1 doesn’t have a second paper in prelims like General Tamil (or) General English (as in Group 2, Group 2A, Group 3, Group 4 etc). Also prelims will have 200 questions. That means 150 Questions from General Studies and 50 Questions from Aptitude.

The Mains (written exam) Paper of Group 1 has three papers and it has different preparation strategy as it is fully written exam. Finally the Interview and Mains mark will be taken for the merit list.

What is different in Group 2?

It is same as that of both Group 1 and Group 2a, That means in Group 2 exam, There will be three stages such as Prelims, Mains, Interview like Group 1. But Like Group 2A,4, Vao exams, in Group 2 , There will be a second paper such as General English/General English.  In Group 2 Prelims, there will be 200 questions (100 in General studies (75 GS +25 Aptitude) + 100 in General English / General Tamil). Mains will be Written Exam. Finally the Interview and Mains mark will be taken for the merit list.

What is different in Group 2A?

It is very important to note that, TNPSC Group 2A has only Single Stage Exam (No Mains/Interview). The best thing is if one clears this Single Exam (Objective Type), then you will get a post directly after counseling.

Group 2A exam has one Optional Paper as General Tamil/General English (like Group 3, 4, VAO).  It is the only exam with Degree Qualification (higher post) with just one exam.

    Syllabus wise :
