National Events:

25th National Conference on e – Governance:

  • The 25th National Conference on e – Governance began in Katra, J & K on November 26, 2022. Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances DARPG and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology are organizing it.
  • This conference will be a platform for discussion on some of these technologies by inviting distinguished speakers to share their knowledge and insights on the subject.

 

Dr. Deepa Malik:

  • Union Health Ministry appointed the President of the Paralympic Committee of India Dr. Deepa Malik as Nikshay Mitr ambassador on November 26, 2022. It is an initiative under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

 

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare:

  • The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced a National Suicide Prevention Strategy in November 2022.
  • This is the first of its kind in the country, with time – bound action plans and multi-sectoral collaborations to achieve reduction in suicide mortality by 10 % by 2030.
  • In India, more than one lakh lives are lost every year to suicide, and it is the top killer in the 15-29 years category.

 

Abdel Fattah el – Sisi:

  • The Indian government has invited Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el – Sisi as the chief guest for the Republic day parade 2023. He will be the first Egyptian leader to be hosted by India for the Republic Day celebrations.
  • Abdel Fattah Sisi is a former Army officer, elected as the president of Egypt in 2014 & 18. The last foreign chief guest was the Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro in 2020.

 

IEC:

  • India has won the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) vice presidency and Strategic Management Board (SMB) chair for the 2023-25 term.
  • Shri Vimal Mahendru will be the IEC Vice President representing India. India secured over 90 % of the votes cast by full members of the IEC during its general meeting held recently in San Francisco, US.

 

GEURS:

  • The Global Employability University Ranking and Survey (GEURS) reveals the world’s top 250 universities for producing employable graduates according to recruiters on 26 November, 2022.
  • IIT Delhi has been placed at the 28th position in the Top 50 of Times Higher Education Global Employability University Ranking and Survey (GEURS). IIT Delhi is the only Indian institute to rank in the top 50.

 

India – France:

  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will co-chair the 4th India – France Annual Defence Dialogue with the French Armed Forces Minister Sebastien Lecornu from 26-28 November, 2022.
  • In 1998, the two countries entered into Strategic Partnership, marking convergence of their views on a range of international issues apart from a close and growing bilateral relationship. France President: Emmanuel Macron.

 

Skyroot Aerospace:

  • Telangana will have the first Integrated Rocket Design, Manufacturing, and Testing Facility of the country in Hyderabad by Skyroot Aerospace.
  • The Hyderabad-based startup, incubated at T-Hub, launched the country’s first private rocket in November 2022. This was announced at an event organised to celebrate Skyroot’s successful launch of the Vikram-S rocket.

 

PSLV C-54:

  • India successfully launched the PSLV C – 54 rocket from Sathish Dhawan Space Centre Sriharikota on 26 November 2022.
  • The payload includes an Ocean satellite to monitor the sea surface. ARGOS, a french payload will reinforce the existing fleet of Indo – French satellites working on weather surveillance.

 

Sangeet Natak Akademi award:

  • Sangeet Natak Akademi award announced 128 recipients for the years 2019, 20, and 2021 in the fields of art and culture on 25 November 2022.
  • Bharatanatyam danseuse Vasundhara Doreswamy and veteran Carnatic vocalist RK Padmanabha are among the eight awardees of the Sangeet Natak Akademi awards from Karnataka announced by the Union Ministry of Culture. Union Minister of Culture: G.Kishan Reddy.

 

Constitution Day of India: 26 November:

  • Constitution Day is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
  • On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950.
  • In 2015, on the 125th birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, the Union government announced November 26 as Constitution Day.

 

National Milk Day: 26 November:

  • It is observed on 26 November to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, the father of India’s White Revolution. Dr. Kurien’s birthday is commemorated on Nov 26th with National Milk Day.
  • He is credited with bringing India’s white revolution. The white revolution was started by Dr. Verghese Kurien, who also made India’s largest self – sustaining industry the dairy farm.

 

ASSOCHAM:

  • NIIT Limited has been recognized as the Best E-Learning Platform by the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).
  • The award was given to NIIT Digital for its contribution to the technology training sector at the ASSOCHAM Futuristic Technologies & 7th Technology Excellence Awards ceremony in Kolkata. ASSOCHAM President: Sumant Sinha.

 

PIDEAX Labs:

  • PIDEAX Labs launched India’s First Co-Working Research hub and incubation lab in November 2022.
  • Pideax Labs will provide office space to increase job productivity and efficiency, as well as incubator laboratories for entrepreneurs. Nitin Lohia and Lakshay Lohia are the Co-Founders of PIDEAX Labs.

 

IORA:

  • India participated in the 22nd Council of Ministers (COM) meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) held in Dhaka on 25 November 2022.
  • The Indian delegation was led by Minister of State External Affairs (MOS), Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.
  • IORA is the largest and pre-eminent organization in the Indian Ocean Region with 23 Members and 10 Dialogue Partners.

 

Bisleri:

  • Tata Consumer is set to acquire India’s largest packaged drinking water company, Bisleri, for an estimated Rs 6,000-7,000 crore.
  • The Indian bottled water market was valued at over USD 2.43 billion (around 19,315 crores) in FY2021, said a report from market research and advisory TechSci Research. Tata Consumer Products Founded: 1962.

 

Special grants:

  • Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai has informed that the state government has decided to give special grants to Kannada medium schools in Maharashtra. Pension will also be given to Kannadigas in Maharashtra who fought for the unification of the State.
  • The pension scheme of Maharshtra for freedom fighters will cover those parts in Belagavi to which Maharashtra stakes claim to.

 

Tamil Nadu Events:

V Annamalai:

  • Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Prathishtana Kuppali has chosen Tamil poet V Annamalai for the Kuvempu National award for the year 2022.
  • The award would be conferred Annamalai at the Kuvempu’s birth anniversary programme on December 29 at Kuppali in Thirthahalli taluk.
  • The award carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, a silver medal and a citation. Annamalai writes in the pen name Imayam.

 

International Events:

“Parastronaut”:

  • The European Space Agency appointed British Paralympic sprinter John McFall the first ever “parastronaut” on 25 Nov 2022.
  • He will take part in a feasibility study during astronaut training to assess the conditions needed for people with disabilities to take part in future missions.
  • It is a major step towards allowing people with physical disabilities to work and live in space.

 

‘Asia’s Inspirational Leader 2022’ award:

  • Prashant Wagh was conferred with ‘Asia’s Inspirational Leader 2022’ award at the ‘Global Business Conclave 2022’ in London on 25 November 2022.
  • The award was bestowed upon him in recognition of his exemplary achievements and immense contribution to the growth of his organisation and industry.
  • His company, AQURA was also recognised as ‘Asia’s most admired brand 2022’.

 

CDU:

  • Gurdeep Singh Randhawa has been appointed to the Thuringia state Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party Presidium in November 2022. It is the first time that an Indian-origin German national has been appointed to a state presidium in Germany by the CDU.
  • Earlier in August, Gurdeep Singh Randhawa was elected as the first representative of the Indian community in Germany.

Sports Events:

Cristiano Ronaldo:

  • Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the first male player to score in 5 World Cups in November 2022. He achieved this feat in Portugal’s opening game in Qatar against Ghana on 25 November 2022.
  • He scored the 118th goal for his country. He is the most prolific goal scorer in men’s international football and has made a record 18 appearances for Portugal at a World Cup.
