National Events:

Sangeet Natak Akademi:

  • Sangeet Natak Akademi of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, will organize a variety of programmes at the India Gate on 19th and 20th November.
  • Odissi Dance and Kathak dance along with Chenda Melam, Puppet Show, Manipuri Dance will be organised.
  • It is organised to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, and Raja Ram Mohan Roy.

 

Long – term capital expenditure funds:

  • The central government has sanctioned 60,000 crore of long – term capital expenditure funds to states this fiscal (2022-23).
  • The scheme envisages giving 1 trillion of 50 – year interest – free loans to states, over and above the normal borrowing they are allowed, so that local administrations get more financial resources for building productive assets , which will also add jobs.

 

Rani Lakshmibai’s birth anniversary: 19 November:

  • Rani Lakshmibai was born on November 19, 1828, in Varanasi. Her maiden name was Manikarnika Tambe. Rani Lakshmibai was the queen of the Maratha princely state of Jhansi in North India.
  • She was one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857 who became a symbol of resistance to the British Raj for Indian nationalists.

 

Indira Gandhi’s 105th birth anniversary: 19 November 2022:

  • 19 November 2022 marked India’s first and only woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s 105th birth anniversary.
  • She was born on this day in 1917. She was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India.
  • She served as PM from January 1966 to March 1977 and from January 1980 until her assassination in October 1984.

 

‘ Kashi Tamil Sangamam ‘:

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to inaugurate a month – long ‘ Kashi Tamil Sangamam ‘ on 19th November in Varanasi. It is being organized as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
  • Sangamam is scheduled from 17 November, 2022 to 16 December, 2022. The program is being organized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and Banaras Hindu University is the host institution for the program.

 

NMSAR:

  • Indian Coast Guard (ICG) conducted the 20th National Maritime Search and Rescue (NMSAR) Board meeting at Kevadia, Gujarat on November 18, 2022.
  • The NMSAR Board, comprising 31 members from various central ministries / agencies, members of the Armed Forces, all Coastal States & Union Territories, meets annually to discuss policy issues. ICG Founded: 1 February 1977. ICG Headquarters: New Delhi.

 

5th National Naturopathy Day: 18 November:

  • In India, November 18th is observed as National Naturopathy Day as a future – oriented health – care system. The main event was organized at National Institute of Naturopathy in Pune.
  • This year’s Naturopathy day was celebrated with the theme, Naturopathy: An Integrative Medicine, thus spreading the message of patient – oriented approach of treatment with Naturopathy across the country.

 

Kanti Velugu:

  • Telangana state government will re – launch the Kanti Velugu scheme from January 18, 2023 across the state.
  • The scheme includes free eye check – ups, surgery, and distribution of spectacles as needed to beneficiaries, free. Chief minister: K. Chandrashekar Rao.

 

NHRC:

  • NHRC (National Human Rights Commission of India) has issued notice to Punjab government over lack of proper access to education facilities for children in the Sutlej surrounded border areas of Firozpur district.
  • The National Human Rights Commission of India is a statutory body constituted on 12 October 1993. Punjab C.M: Bhagwant Mann.

 

Karnataka government:

  • Karnataka has scripted history by selecting three transgenders as teachers in government schools. Suresh Babu, Ravi Kumar Y R and Ashwathama have become the first transgenders to make it as teachers in the state – run schools.
  • Babu will teach English, while Kumar and Ashwathama are for Social Sciences. Of the 15,000 posts, the government had reserved 1 % ( 150 posts ) for the transgenders.

 

Donyi Polo Airport:

  • PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Donyi Polo Airport at Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh on 19 November 2022.
  • It is the first Greenfield Airport in the state. It is equipped with ultra – modern facilities to ensure all – weather operations. The name of the airport is given after Donyi and Polo, i.e. Sun and Moon.

 

International Events:

World Heritage Week: 19-25 November 2022:

  • The World Heritage Week is being observed from November 19 and November 25, 2022. It aims to raise awareness about traditional and cultural practices.
  • Entry for tourists will be free at all Archaeological Survey of India – protected monuments on November 19 to mark the commencement of World Heritage Week. World Heritage Day is observed on 18 April every year.

 

World Toilet Day: 19 November:

  • World Toilet Day is observed on 19 November every year. The day focuses on the impact of the sanitation crisis on groundwater.
  • This observance, held annually since 2013, celebrates toilets and raises awareness of the 3.6 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation. The 2022 campaign is titled ‘ Making the invisible visible ‘.

 

‘ No Money for Terror ‘:

  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the first session of the 3rd ‘ No Money for Terror ‘ Ministerial Conference on ‘ Global Trends in Terrorist Financing and Terrorism ‘ theme in New Delhi on 18th November 2022.
  • It was attended by about 450 delegates from across the world, including Ministers, and Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Heads of Delegations. FATF President: T. Raja Kumar.

 

Sports Events:

FIFA World Cup 2022:

  • Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar will pay an official visit to Qatar on November 20-21, 2022 and represent India at the inauguration of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
  • He is visiting there at the invitation of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar. In 2023, both countries would be celebrating 50 years of the establishment of full diplomatic relations.
