National Events:

Telangana:

  • President Droupadi Murmu on 2 Oct 2022 conferred the awards for Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2022 in New Delhi.
  • In the big states category , the first award for Swachh Survekshan Grameen was given to Telangana , 2nd to Haryana & the 3rd award was bagged by Tamil Nadu.
  • Among the smaller States & UTS , Andaman & Nicobar secured the 1st position followed by Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.

 

Indore:

  • President Droupadi Murmu on 1st Oct 2022 presented the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2022 in New Delhi. Indore has been adjudged the cleanest city of India for the 6th year in a row , while Madhya Pradesh is the cleanest state in the country.
  • Surat is the second cleanest city in the category of cities with a population more than a lakh. Shivamogga in Karnataka received the fast mover city award.

 

International Events:

International Day of Non – Violence : 2nd October:

  • International Day of Non – Violence is observed every year on 2nd October , the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.
  • Mahatma Gandhi , one of the tallest leaders Indian independence movement , was the pioneer of the philosophy of non – violence.
  • This day was established on 15 June 2007 by the United Nations. Its date corresponds with those of the Indian national public holiday of Gandhi Jayanti.

 

Sports Events:

Rohit Sharma:

  • Rohit Sharma on 2 Oct 2022 became the first player from the country to feature in 400 T20 matches. He achieved this feat while leading Team India in the second T20I against South Africa on 2 October.
  • He also holds the record for most runs in T20I cricket ( 3712 ). Rohit Sharma , Dinesh Karthik , Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are the only Indian cricketers to have played more than 350 matches in T20s.

 

Sergio Perez:

  • Red Bull’s Sergio Perez on 2 Oct 2022 won the 2022 Singapore F1 Grand Prix .Formula One is the highest class of international racing for open – wheel single – seater formula racing cars. First race : 1946.
