National Events:

Group of Foreign Portfolio Investors:

The Securities and Exchange Board of India ( SEBI ) has constituted an expert group of Foreign Portfolio Investors ( FPIs ) to boost overseas flows into the country .
The FPI Advisory Committee ( FAC ) will be chaired by former Chief Economic Adviser KV Subramanian . It consists of 14 other members representing foreign banks , stock exchanges depositories and RBI .

End – to – end Digital Lok Adalat:

India’s first – ever end – to – end Digital Lok Adalat will be held on August 13 , 2022 .It will be held by the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority ( RSLSA ) and Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority ( MSLSA ) .
This Digital Lok Adalat was launched during the 18th All India Legal Services Authorities ‘ meet held in Jaipur in July 2022 .

Nano Urea Spraying Scheme:

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel has launched the Indian Farmers ‘ Fertilizer Cooperative Limited ( IFFCO ) Nano Urea Spraying Scheme statewide .
The scheme will promote the use of drones in the agricultural sector and is supposed to cut down the agricultural cost and increase the income of the farmers .
The provision of 35 crore rupees has been made for the scheme in FY 22-23 .

ISS Facility Services India:

ISS Facility Services India , a subsidiary of Denmark – based ISS Group has signed an agreement with Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University ( DSEU ) . The MoU is aimed at training students enrolled in BBA ( Facilities and Hygiene Management ) programme .
ISS will assist DSEU with curriculum advisory , faculty and staff development workshops , internships and placement support .

Kerala – based Federal Bank:

Kerala – based Federal Bank has become India’s first bank to list its Payment Gateway platform on the TIN 2.0 platform of the Income Tax ( IT ) Department .
With this , taxpayers will get one more option to make payments using modes such as Credit / Debit Card & Internet Banking .
Tax Information Network ( TIN ) is an initiative by the IT Department to modernise the tax collection system .

Larsen & Toubro ( L & T ) Ltd:

Larsen & Toubro ( L & T ) Ltd has signed an MoU with the Gujarat government to set up an IT and IT – enabled Services ( ITeS ) Park in Vadodara . The park is being set up under the recently announced IT / ITES policy of the state government .
This policy was launched in February 2022 with an aim to generate one lakh ‘ high – skilled jobs ‘ in the IT sector in the next five years . Gujarat CM : Bhupendrabhai Patel.

Union cabinet secretary Rajiv Gauba:

The Government on 5 July 2022 approved a one year extension in service for Union cabinet secretary Rajiv Gauba . This is his second extension on the post . Gauba , former Union Home Secretary , was in 2019 appointed as cabinet secretary for 2 years .
He was given a one – year extension in August 2021 . Mr Gauba is said to be the key architect of the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Act , 2019 .

Machhal Women’s Cricket League:

In north Kashmir , the Indian Army along with local authorities organised the first ever Machhal Women’s Cricket League .
The Indian Army organised this league to engage the youth of border districts , residing along the line of control ( LOC ) , in sports activities . The girls from Machhal , Pushwari and Dudi villages participated in the game .

SAC:

The Indian Navy on 5 July 2022 inked a pact with ISRO’s Space Applications Centre ( SAC ) on data sharing and cooperation on Satellite – based Naval Applications in Oceanology and Meteorology .
As per the agreement , the scientific advancements of the SAC would be synergised into the Indian Navy’s efforts to protect the country’s maritime interests . ISRO Chairman : Sreedhara Panicker Somanath.

Inderjit Camotra:

Unity Small Finance Bank ( SFB ) on 5 July 2022 appointed Inderjit Camotra as its managing director and chief executive officer .
Unity SFB is a digital – first bank which was recently elevated to a ‘ Scheduled Bank ‘ by RBI .The bank commenced its operation in November 2021 .

Sports Events:

SAFF U – 20 football championship trophy:

India lifted the SAFF U – 20 football championship trophy by defeating Bangladesh in the final at Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneswar , Odisha , on 5 August 2022 .
India won this championship for the second consecutive time . SAFF- South Asian Football Federation .

First Indian athlete:

Rupal Chaudhary has become the first Indian athlete to win two medals at the World U20 Athletics Championship .
After winning a 4x400m relay race silver , she won bronze in the women’s 400m race . On 2 August , she had won a silver in the 4x400m relay race .
