National Events:

1)5G Open RAN:

  • The Centre for Development of Telematics ( C – DOT ) has signed an agreement with WiSig Networks Private Limited and VVDN Technologies Private Limited for collaboration in the area of Open RAN – based Radio Network for 5G solution .
  • This agreement is a major step for Indigenous development of 5G Open RAN under Aatmanirbhar Bharat Initiative . C – DOT founded – 1984 .C – DOT Headquarters – New Delhi.

 

2)eSanjeevani:

  • The National Health Authority ( NHA ) has announced the successful integration of eSanjeevani with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission .
  • This integration allows the existing users of eSanjeevani to easily create their Ayushman Bharat Health Account ( ABHA ) and use it to link and manage their existing health records . eSanjeevani is the telemedicine service of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare .

 

3)Sagarmala Young Professional scheme:

  • Ministry of Ports , Shipping , and Waterways has formulated the Sagarmala Young Professional scheme .It will engage talented , forward – thinking , and dynamic young professionals in various divisions of the Ministry .
  • This scheme focuses on active on – the – ground learning for young professionals . Initially , more than 25 young professionals will be hired under this scheme .

 

4)Asia’s and India’s richest man:

  • Mukesh Ambani has surpassed Gautam Adani to regain the spot of Asia’s and India’s richest man . As per Bloomberg Billionaire index , RIL Chairman Ambani has gained the eighth spot in the world’s richest as his net worth stands at $ 99.7 billion .
  • Whereas , Adani Group’s Chairman Gautam Adani’s net worth is $ 98.7 billion , placing him in the ninth spot in the index .

 

5)Tata Projects:

  • Tata Group’s infrastructure and construction arm , Tata Projects , has bagged the contract to construct the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar , in UP .
  • As part of the contract , Tata Projects will construct the terminal , runway , airside infrastructure , roads , utilities , landside facilities and other ancillary buildings at the airport .It is expected to be functional by 2024 .

 

6)” PM Shri Schools “:

  • Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on 31 May 2022 said the Centre is planning to set up ” PM Shri Schools ” .
  • These schools will be aimed at preparing students for future and will be the laboratory of new National Education Policy ( NEP ) . One percent of the total 11 lakh government schools in the country will be upgraded to ” PM Shri ” schools .

 

7)ISALPI:

  • The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in collaboration with Indian agri – land marketplace SFarmsIndia has announced the launch of IIMA – SFarmsIndia Agri Land Price Index ( ISALPI ).
  • It is a first – of – its – kind land price index that will record and present ‘ quality controlled ‘ data of prices of agricultural land across the country .Currently , ISALPI is based on land listing data from 6 states.

 

8)India’s first liquid mirror telescope:

  • India’s first liquid mirror telescope has been commissioned atop Devasthal , a hill in Uttarakhand .
  • The telescope , which is the largest in Asia , will help survey the sky and make it possible to observe several galaxies and other astronomical objects .
  • The telescope dubbed the Indian Liquid Mirror Telescope ( ILMT ) is built by astronomers from India , Belgium , and Canada .

 

9)Sashastra Seema Bal ( SSB):

  • A 1988 – batch IPS officer , Sujoy Lal Thaosen , on 1 June 2022 , took charge as the director – general ( DG ) of the Sashastra Seema Bal ( SSB ) .
  • Serving as a Special DG in the BSF till now , Thaosen ( 58 ) is the 21st head of the SSB .Sashastra Seema Bal ( SSB ) guards Indian frontiers with Nepal and Bhutan .SSB founded – 20 December 1963. SSB Headquarters – New Delhi.

 

International Events:

1)Turkey to Turkiye:

  • The United Nations on 1 June 2022 granted Turkey’s request to change its name from Turkey to Turkiye .Turkey began the move to change its internationally recognised official name in English to Turkiye in December 2021 .
  • The country called itself Turkiye in 1923 after its declaration of independence .Turkiye capital – Ankara. Turkiye President – Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

 

2)Meta , formerly known as Facebook:

  • Javier Olivan , on 2 June 2022 , was named as the next chief operating officer ( COO ) of Meta , formerly known as Facebook .Meta Platforms , Inc. , is an American multinational technology conglomerate based in Menlo Park , California . Meta Platforms CEO – Mark Zuckerberg.

 

3)World Bicycle Day : 3 June:

  • The United Nations General Assembly , in April 2018 , decided to observe June 3 as World Bicycle Day .The day celebrates bicycles as a symbol of human progress , sustainability , and social inclusion , and as a tool promoting a culture of peace .
  • India is the second – largest cycle industry in the world and the world’s third – largest consumer of bicycles.

 

Sports Events:

Khelo India Youth Games:

  • Haryana will host the Khelo India Youth Games 2021 from 4 June 2022 . It would continue till June 13 , 2022 . The Games , to take place for the U – 18 age category , will be held in Shahbad , Ambala , Chandigarh and Delhi apart from Panchkula .
  • Around 8500 players will participate in these games .It will feature a total of 25 sports , including 5 indigenous games of India .
