Total Vacancies of Group 1B & 1C services 2024 is 29
In that, For DEO (District Educational Officer – 8), 6 vacancies for open market and 2 for From among Teachers employed in recognized aided Secondary Schools and Higher Secondary Schools

Age Eligibility வயது தகுதி
As on 01.07.2024, For General Category 34 for Assistant Commissioner and 32 for DEO (Open Market), 42 for DEO (aided school teachers).
For BC(OBCM)s, BCMs, MBCs/DCs, SCs, SC(A)s, STs, and Destitute Widows of all Communities, 39 for Assistant Commissioner and no maximum age limit for DEO posts.
But for Assistant Commission in Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, a person should be in Hindu Religion.
Educational Qualification கல்வி தகுதி
Assistant Commissioner
Any degree & LAW (3 or 5) and Advocate or pleader (not less than 3 years) or Executive Officer, Grade-I or Grade-II or Grade-III or Grade-IV, or Inspector or Head Clerk or Manager or Superintendent in the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department
District Educational Officer
Master Degree or a degree (Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Economics, Geography, History, Commerce, Tamil and English) and should have studied Tamil under Part-I or Part-II of the Intermediate or Pre-University Course or Higher Secondary Course and B.ED from recognized institutes.
For aided school teachers, Teaching Experience not less than 12 years is needed.
Scheme of Exam தேர்வுத் திட்டம்
TNPSC Group 1B & Group 1C Exam is conducted in three stages exam as, Prelims, Mains and Interview
Prelims will be conducted as Computer based test (CBT), Prelims contains
General Studies (GS) – 175
Aptitude – 25
Total – 200
Marks – 300
Mains will be written exam and syllabus for AC and DEO is different.
Mains (Written) & Interview
Total marks for Mains and Interview is 850.
